Candida: Ill Health Begins in the Gut

Candida Albicans: Usually found in the intestines in small amounts in a healthy bowel. It is a fungus, yeast or mold depending on what you want to call it.
Candida has in the alternative health community, been known for a long time to cause a huge array of health problems.  You can find lists of symptoms anywhere on the net.  I believe the list of symptoms should be a long as my list of the side effects of eating carbs and more!
However Candida is only just starting to be recognized in the general medical community.

This is an abstract from a recent study confirming the inflammatory effects of Candida on the bowel and the many diseases that are connected to this infestation:
Inflammation and gastrointestinal Candida colonization.

Abstract

Candida organisms commonly colonize the human gastrointestinal tract as a component of the resident microbiota. Their presence is generally benign. Recent studies, however, show that high level Candida colonization is associated with several diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Further, results from animal models argue that Candida colonization delays healing of inflammatory lesions and that inflammation promotes colonization. These effects may create a vicious cycle in which low-level inflammation promotes fungal colonization and fungal colonization promotes further inflammation. Both inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal Candida colonization are associated with elevated levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-17. Therefore, effects on IL-17 levels may underlie the ability of Candida colonization to enhance inflammation. Because Candida is a frequent colonizer, these effects have the potential to impact many people.

General theories and treatment to get rid of this yeast is to
use anti fungals and to replace bacteria with probiotics.
-but Candida Feeds on Carbohydrates!

In people who have over eaten large amounts carbohydrates or who were born to mothers who were infected with Candida, it is not only found in huge amounts in the bowel but also elsewhere in the body where it causes all sorts of trouble.

This little critter cannot be killed, beaten or surprised by an attack of anti fungals.  It just does a metamorphosis and becomes a little different therefore eluding all attempts at it's eradication.
Try to temporarily starve it out and what happens when you start to eat "normally again"?  It comes back.

And so it should.  Why?  Because this little critter is trying to save your life.
The digestive system wasn't designed to digest such a huge load of carbohydrates and
doesn't actually have the where with all to do so.  It is designed to digest mostly protein, fats and a little carb.
Now that your intestines are absolutely loaded with carbs, which includes fibre in the form of cellulose, if has to figure out how to deal with all this so it ferments it with, yes, Candida Albicans.

Candida Albicans doesn't stay in the bowel to try and digest all those carbs it spreads itself around anywhere it thinks it can help.   After all it must save (you) it's host in order for it to survive.

This is why this is a program for life.  This program has the food your digestive system was designed to digest.  If you go back to eating high amounts of carbs again, you will again start growing Candida so you body can deal with it.
Simple as simple.  You can't eradicate Candida but you can cease to give it nourishment. While ceasing to give Candida nourishment you can nourish your body with good foods that don't nourish Candida.  Your body will heal, and Candida  will exist only in small amounts like the body used to have when healthy.

You will need supplements to build you body back to a healthy state
Using this program which includes good nutrition, and supplements your body will be built back up to where you were when you were healthy.  This could be as long as before birth depending on what your parents handed down to you through their own health problems.

When your body is working correctly and is not overburdened by toxins it can then exist on good foods alone.  Up until that point you will need to use additional supplements to heal.

An example of this was evidenced by my husband who used to have a huge need for Vitamin B before he went on this programme.  It would manifest as very sore gums (he's had false teeth since his teenage years due to excessive coke drinking and passive smoking as a small child from his dad's cigarette habit)
Sometimes he would need many Vitamin B tablets a day to get his gums to stop hurting.  Thanks to this program he no longer gets this huge need for this vitamin.  He is still healing though and we have our usual healing dose of  this vitamin.

5 days in Los Angeles: they are using carbs to fill up instead of fat

Well,  I just did a quick dash to LA for a business trip.  The jet lag after 14 hours on a plane was the least of my worries.  What was the hardest was avoiding sugar!

The amount of sugar that is added to every single food in restaurants and cafes is quite scary.

I was told yesterday that there is even sugar in cheese now in the US.
I just looked at Wiki at it tells me "American cheese" is made with milk, whey, milk fat, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, and salt. Where is the old way of making cheese?  European  cheeses are just made with whole milk just like they always were.

Anyway, what I really wanted to talk about was the cakes and confections I saw in the bakeries and cafes.  There were these huge single serve cakes that are so loaded with sugar that honestly they have sugar on top of another form of sugar.
I saw toffee apples (toffee? apple I saw in a shop window), not just coated in toffee, but Rocky Road, Mars Bars and every conceivable sugar you could think of. Kids & aduts are eating these foods.  When I looked at them they just made me feel sick. OTT!  This is how other people should be looking at them too.  They are so out of touch with their bodies that they just don't get how poisonous these foods are.

This pastry adjacent was huge!  And just for one person.  Absolute poison.

I did my best in keeping to the LCHF diet.
Just ordered the meat and vegetables for my lunch and dinner.   Eggs for breakfast.  This would be ok if there was a good fatty sauce (without sugar) to go with it.  But every sauce I ate had loads of sugar and no fat, so I started ordering meals without sauces.    But the trouble is there just isn't any fat used in the cooking either.  No wonder my meals weren't satisfying.  Fat make things tasty and there was just not (I swear) any fat, even the bacon was so fat free it was scary.  I finally realised I had to start asking for butter.  But even then it came in tiny amounts.  I needed to bring my own!  I needed more fat.

I tried to get ordinary cream to put into my decaf.  There is only sugary whipped cream available. I went into a grocery shop to buy some pouring cream and they didn't have any, only the sugary stuff.  I finally found some in a Health Food shop and put it in my drinks.

Next trip I will get a room with a kitchen, find a Health Food and buy ordinary unpackaged food and cook it myself.
